ADMISSION FOR THE ACADEMIC SESSION 26-27 WILL BE NOTIFIED DURING 1ST WEEK OF NOVEMBER 2025

First Step for your Child's Success

Admission notice for 2025-2026

Admission form and prospectus for Play Group and Transition will be available from 18th November 2024 between 9:15 A.M. to 12:15 P.M. Thereafter, they can be collected between Monday to Saturday - 9:15 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. only, except calendar holidays, till class capacity has been reached. No requests will be entertained beyond this.

We strongly encourage parents to consider admitting their children to the Play Group to comply with the latest National Education Policy. At this pivotal age, children develop essential social and individual skills through play and interaction. Starting their educational journey early aids holistic development and avoids potential age-related complications during admissions to larger schools later.

NB:
1. Forms will be given to parents only (please bring a photocopy of child's birth certificate). Guardian or well wisher is not entitled to collect the form under any circumstance.
2. Please do not come to Seraphim in any casual attire .

Filled-in Admission Forms must be submitted within 7 days from the date of issue. The date of meeting the Programme Head will be notified at the time of submission of the filled-in form.

All admissions procedures for all Groups will be completed by January 2025.
(No mid-term admission)

AGE CRITERIA

The most recent directive issued under the National Education Policy 2020 has mandated that the minimum age at which a child can be admitted into Class/Grade 1 is 6+ (as on April 1 of the relevant year). Accordingly, back calculating the following emerges:.

Class 1:      6+ years as on April 1

Upper KG: 5+ years as on April 1

Lower KG: 4+ years as on April 1

Nursery:    3+ years as on April 1

We have also noted that most schools have a range of ~1 year for the purposes of admission between the youngest in the class and the oldest.

Accordingly, in order to bring our admission process in line with the directive under the National Education Policy 2020 and to reconcile with the averaged school admission criteria, our admission age group criteria for admission in the Financial Year 2025-26 shall be as follows:

PlayGroup: 2+ years as on April 1, 2025 but less than / equal to 3 years
(that is, children born between April 2, 2022 and April 1, 2023)

Transition (as per NEP this is Nursery): 3+ years as on April 1, 2025 but less than / equal to 4 years
(that is, children born between April 2, 2021 and April 1, 2022)

**Parents who collected/ submitted the form prior to [01.12.24] will be guided during the scheduled interaction dates

This will allow for smooth movement into schools post conclusion of their time at Seraphim.

Parents are kindly advised to ensure their child's date of birth falls within the stipulated ranges for the desired grade.

SESSION STARTS FROM END OF FEBRUARY 2025.

Admission will be considered on the basis of interaction with parents (as scheduled), starting in the month of December, 2024 for Transition. Interaction for Play Group will be in the month of January, 2025.

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE DO NOT ENTERTAIN DONATIONS IN ANY FORM FOR ADMISSIONS. WE ARE NOT LIABLE TO CLAIMS OR COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME.

Learning in a play way method

Seraphim Nursery School, Konnagar

Seraphim Nursery is able to provide the best possible natural environment for healthy development of young children, following Froebel's principle of kindergarten way of education, in which, object lessons and games figure largely. This system neither imposes upon the child nor does it abandon him/her in total free play. It provides a carefully planned and structured environment in which the child grows and learns in a natural and enjoyable way. Following children-centred approach, the programme of the school is planned in a such a way, that it not only clarifies concepts, but also meets the various needs of the child for overall development.
